Establishing and maintaining standards of student conduct needed to achieve a music classroom climate conducive to learning. Developing lesson plans as well as instructional materials and providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum to the needs of each student. Directing concert/ jazz band rehearsals and performances for groups of 40 to 120 students to achieve desired effects such as tonal and hormonal balance dynamics, rhythm, and tempo. Teaching basic understanding of music theory, including music notation, sight-singing, solfege, ear training, and music appreciation through selected age-appropriate and diverse music repertoire. Providing voice training based on traditional classic vocal pedagogy, vocal health and function. These classes give students a firm knowledge foundation to apply further to intermediate/ advance instrument studies and ensemble playing. Teaching students to read music and internalize musical concepts through learning piano, percussion, woodwind, and brass instruments.
